Part-Time Bread Baker

Location: Veda Bakery, 999 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238
Position Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $25/hour
Hours: 10-15 hours per week

• Thursday: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Friday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• Additional hours may become available based on production needs, skill development, and efficiency.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bread Baker to join our production team.

This role is ideal for someone interested in artisan bread production and bakery operations. The Bread Baker will be responsible for mixing doughs, scaling and weighing ingredients, shaping breads, and preparing cookie doughs and cookies for production. Key Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh and scale ingredients according to recipes and production schedules
• Mix a variety of bread doughs using commercial bakery equipment
• Monitor dough development and fermentation processes
• Hand-shape breads and assist with stretching, folding, and processing doughs
• Prepare and mix cookie doughs
• Portion and shape cookies for baking
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment
• Follow established recipes, production standards, and food safety procedures
• Assist with general bakery production tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Previous bakery, pastry, or kitchen experience preferred but not required
• Passion for bread baking and working with dough
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and is excited to learn the fundamentals of artisan bread production. Prior experience with dough mixing, shaping, or bakery production is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates enthusiasm, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Compensation: $25 per hour
Expected Hours: 10-15 hours per week
