UPCOMING ONLINE WORKSHOP OFFERING

The Sexuality Affirming Service Provider

Doors open at 8:30 am. Workshop from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. (CST)

Date: ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON

Facilitators: Dr. Reece Malone & D Matombe

This workshop is appropriate for: Counsellors, therapists, life-coaches, educators, health providers, spiritual care providers, administrators, front-facing service providers, program coordinators.

In our rapidly evolving world, individuals are faced with the task of navigating the cultural mores of sexuality (anatomy, expressions, identities) along with their own sexual health and wellness. Research indicates that service providers rarely discuss the nuances of consent, intimacy and sex, and sexual health wellness decision making with their clients. At the same time, clients have shared that their desire to engage in discussions with service providers on the topic of sexuality and sexual wellness are often met with ambivalence, discomfort, or morality-based attitudes.

This full day workshop invites service providers to explore their values and attitudes on human sexuality, broaden their awareness and knowledge on the diversity of sexual expressions and relationships, and explore pathways to increase comfort and confidence when discussing sexuality-based topics that support sexual agency, sexual self-determination, and optimal sexual health outcomes.
